Since its launch last year, Fullerton Foundation has grown from strength to strength, having initiated seven charitable activities across the ASEAN region in 2018 alone.

It is only fitting then that as the foundation celebrates its first anniversary this month, it sets about making plans to reach out to even more communities and leave a positive impact on the people and places it visits.

The foundation will also focus on supporting more meaningful collaborations between volunteers and beneficiaries. Our partners, for example, have enthusiastically played a part in making several of our activities a success – be it spending a day in Desa Pohgading Timur in Lombok, Indonesia to lend a hand in disaster relief, or visiting the Rescue Center of Ruamkatanyu Foundation in Samut Prakan, Thailand to gift volunteer rescuers with medical supplies.

The kind donations of our partners go a long way in supporting the foundation’s future activities. Most recently, our partners participated in an auction at the Gala Dinner of Fullerton Leaders Summit 2018 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Our long-time IB, Dato’ Sri Ahmad Zaki of SimplyFX, emerged as the highest bidder of the night to be the proud owner of the coveted autographed jersey of New Zealand-based professional rugby union team, Hurricanes. His donation of RM3,000 to Fullerton Foundation will help fund our various efforts planned for the year.

“It’s an honour to be able to contribute to something as meaningful as Fullerton Foundation. The work that they do brings joy and comfort to many people. I’m glad initiatives such as this charity auction allow partners like myself, along with my team from the SimplyFX Charity Wing, to do our part for the community,” said Dato’ Sri Ahmad Zaki.

Fullerton Markets’ Head of Research and Education, Wayne Ko, feels that having more people understand Fullerton Foundation’s objectives and activities has far-reaching benefits. He said, “We’re heartened to see the involvement of partners like Dato’ Sri Ahmad Zaki in our charitable efforts. While we work towards bringing sustainable change to communities, we also hope Fullerton Foundation will serve as a platform that connects our people, partners and beneficiaries in positive ways. We’re just a year old, but we’re taking small steps to make big changes!”

Perhaps no one says it better than Mother Teresa who once shared: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
